About MM Luthiery

In 2020, I graduated from UAL: Central St. Martins as a product designer, having dreamed of becoming a craftsman. During my studies, I developed essential skills in design, research, and craftsmanship, which laid the foundation for my journeys. Little after my graduation, I shifted my focus to woodworking, furniture design, and the intricate and sacred craftsmanship of stringed instruments. To me, musical stringed instruments represent the pinnacle of woodworking—a sacred transformation of raw material into vessels of sound and emotion, where crafting an instrument becomes the highest act of love for the long gone beautiful tree. An instrument comes alive when a musician pours their soul into it, turning it into an extension of themselves. The magic flows outward, connecting people and inspiring expression. Music has the power to unite, transcending boundaries and creating shared emotional experiences. Music has always been a cornerstone of my life. Growing up surrounded by instruments, I played violin and guitar with my siblings and it allowed us to express what words couldn’t, uncovering parts of ourselves hidden by the noise of modern life. Over time, I became enchanted by the acoustic depth and soulfulness of finely crafted guitars. These creations, born of vibration and emotion, inspire me to continue crafting tools that help musicians share their voice with the world. Although, crafting instruments is not just about creating tools for music; it is also about honoring and preserving the traditions of craftsmanship. Each piece I create is a continuation of centuries-old practices, keeping alive the spirit of artistry, dedication, and respect for the materials. By blending tradition with modern techniques, I strive to craft instruments that serve as bridges—between musician and audience, past and present, the physical and the emotional realms.
