RE - FRET 180 €
This repair service is usually done when the frets are worn too much and a simple fret dress wont do the job. The price includes the fret wire cost and the essential set up. Frets are pressed in the fingerboard using a fret press caul to ensure a perfect fit to the radius of the instrument.
In many cases re-fretting is done only in the first five frets of the fingerboard. This usually concerns acoustic guitar players that they tend to wear out only the first 5 frets because this is where the instrument is played most frequentl . In that case the price is from 110 - 130 € depending on the number of frets that need to be changed.
Re-fretting an instrument often leads to other actions that need to be taken care of. For example make a new nut 50 €, straighten the fingerboard due to unwanted curves or dents 45 €, or to varnish the fingerboard 50 €. You will be informed about these issues upon inspection of the instrument once you bring it the workshop.
If you want stainless steel re-fretting the cost is at 240 € since the material is more expensive, harder to work with, and the tools get more worn out due to the hardness of the steel. Stainless steel frets last a lot longer than normal frets and they have more sound sustain. They are ideal for soloists providing a smooth effortless play all along the fingerboard.
